ARK is a research group on Computer Architecture at Kyoto Institute of Technology. Initially, we named it "ARC", taking the first three letters of "Architecture."

Then, to make the name more endearing, and in the hope that we could navigate the rough and tumble of the rapidly evolving computer world, we decided to spell the name "ARK" instead of "ARC."
