ARK is a research group on Computer Architecture at Kyoto Institute of Technology. Initially, we named it "ARC", taking the first three letters of Architecture.

Then, in order to make the name more endearing, and in the hope that we could face the rough and tumble of the rapidly evolving computer world, we decided to spell the name "ARK" instead of "ARC".
